Your hosts and our 1960's "recycled" building
Cathy the Innkeeper, her parrot Rascal, and the cats, Little-Little and Kitty Boy welcome you to our version of a B&B. Our building was a small family motel built in the 1960's and most rooms have been renovated over the years. There were no big old historic buildings to convert to a B&B, and the island really needed a B&B, so we recycled the building and gave it a new life. We opened in 1991 and we were closed briefly after Hurricane Emily in 1993.
Cathy and her staff strive to be your gracious hosts at the beach. We provide an affordable, comfortable, convenient, and relaxing setting, with island charm, and great breakfasts. The business was opened as a B&B by converting and expanding the upstairs area to provide a great room, sun deck, and to accommodate guests. We do have an ocean view from our second floor deck for you to enjoy.
Variety of Rooms
Our goal was to provide affordable lodging, deliver value, and win guests over with our home style breakfast. We know that many guests want us to be fancier, but most people like us just as we have been all of these years. Hatteras Island is a remote location and we strive to make it seem more like home. As with most bed and breakfast inns, the types of rooms vary, as does the room’s cost, so that we can provide different rates and accommodate a variety of traveler’s needs. Some rooms still have the original bathrooms. If you need a more updated feel to a room, please select a more expensive room. Rooms have a private entrance, bath, small refrigerator, coffee and tea set up, blow drier, flat screen cable TV, alarm clock, and private entrance. Common Areas
After your perfect start to a Hatteras Island day, you can enjoy the ocean breeze on the sunny deck, porches, your room, or the guest's living room. Of course you will want to head out for a day of leisure and play. For more ideas about activities, see our local Attractions.
Breakfast
After a good night’s sleep, get an early start with a hearty, complete, home cooked daily special that ranges from Eggs Portuguese to Cathy’s signature Eggs Rarebit. Complimenting our Outer Banks style breakfast, are a variety of juices, cereals, homemade pastries, and homemade granola. We also understand special dietary considerations with advanced notice. If you are still hungry, just ask, we are happy to whip up something more.

We provide complimentary wireless internet, coffee, tea, bottled water, snacks, beach chairs, bicycles, beach towels, coolers, beach bags, Spa Koru benefits, use of a gas grill, and local advice. Let us know how we can help you with wedding planning, events planning, company retreats, family reunions, or special requests. We provide complimentary water, soft drinks, and snacks. We have last minute Specials and offer discounts for weekly and extended stays.
